Tool Tips For The ScribeALL |
|
|
This page provides some tool tips and tricks for using the ScribeALL
DIY tool to solve
more complex or less common problems.

|
1. The minimum offset for a pencil or pen appears to be 1/4"
from an edge or 3/4" from a corner. What if I need to have a smaller offset than this? |

Tips #1
The sliding pencil carriage on the ScribeALL DIY tool has been designed so that the pencil will
normally sit at a right-angle to the measuring scale. However, to measure a very small offset, you can
position your marker at an angle to achieve your fine offset. This solution is illustrated in the photo
on the left. |

2. I need to mark an offset from an outside edge. However, I am working in a confined
space and if I try to hook the heel of the ScribeALL over the edge there is no space for the ScribeALL body! |

Tips #2
To get around this problem, try using the trick illustrated in the photo to the left. Place a pen or
dowel in the pencil carriage on the ScribeALL and use this to run along your outside edge. Then hold
a pencil into the corner of the heel to make your mark. Using the ScribeALL "backwards" like this
lets you work in a tight location. However, you will have to manually measure your offset, as the measuring
scales on the ScribeALL are not aligned for this use. |

| 3. Can I use marking implements other than a pencil in my ScribeALL? |

Tool Tips #3
Yes! The ScribeALL is designed to accommodate a wide variety of marking implements including mechanical pencils,
X-acto knives, chalk, most ball point pens, small felt-tip pens, metal scribing points, and even some glass cutters
can all be used in the ScribeALL. |

4. I have misplaced my square, can the ScribeALL help me out? |

Tips #4
